Benidorm districts guide, Poniente

Take a walk on the Poniente side and recharge your batteries

West of Levante you'll find Poniente which is quite simply beautiful. Overlooked by a stunning array of cliffs, lined with an abundance of fruitful palm trees. On the coast you'll discover the large, extensive Poniente beach in addition to the small, pretty Malpas Beach and the Benidorm marina.

Hotels

Dominating the Poniente skyline is the famous Hotel Bali with its 52 floors. This is truly an impressive hotel and one of the tallest buildings in Spain standing at a staggering 186 metres. Generally, hotel accommodation on the Poniente is good quality and while it is recognised that the most entertaining hotspots of Benidorm are situated on the Levante side, all are still easily reachable from this area and at least here you are guaranteed a good night's sleep in an altogether more peaceful and tranquil environment.

Daytime activities

Over recent years the Poniente area has become very popular with bird lovers (of the feathered variety) as hundreds of beautiful white doves have taken residence in the charming Elche Park famous for its shady palms, winding pathways, and stunning views of the Benidorm Marina and the Island of Benidorm. From here you can stroll for hours along the promenade of the golden sand Poniente beach "Sunset Beach" stopping off at one of the many international cafeterias on route before finally arriving at the small Spanish holiday resort of La Cala.
